No. There is no official Tally mobile app that runs TallyPrime on Android or iPhone (October 2026). Tally Solutions' only app for TallyPrime users, TallyIra, turns photos of bills into draft vouchers. To view reports, use Reports in Browser or a companion app. To use full TallyPrime on a phone, open it on a Windows cloud server with Microsoft's free Windows App.

Short answer: no app runs TallyPrime on a phone
TallyPrime is a Windows desktop program, and it has no Android or iOS version. Tally Solutions' own system requirements, updated 22 September 2026, say TallyPrime can only be installed on Microsoft Windows, on a 64-bit (x64) processor. Phones and tablets run Android or iOS, so there is nothing to install on them. Tally's TallyPrime FAQ adds that it isn't a web application either: you can view reports in a browser, but you can't edit data there.
We checked the store evidence on 6 October 2026. Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd.'s developer page on Google Play and its listings on the Apple App Store (India) show three apps: TallyIra, Tally Track 2.0 and TallyESS. None of them opens a company, shows your ledgers or lets you post a voucher.
So when someone says they "use Tally on the phone", they mean one of four things:
- a third-party companion app that shows data copied from TallyPrime;
- Tally's Reports in Browser, a view-only feature that comes with TSS;
- TallyIra, which turns photos of bills into draft vouchers;
- a remote-desktop session to a Windows computer that runs TallyPrime. Only this one is the real program.
Searching "tally app"? App stores also list tally counters, form builders and money trackers that simply share the word. Check the publisher's name before you install anything that claims to be Tally.
Tally's own apps: TallyIra, Tally Track and TallyESS

TallyIra and Docs by Ira
TallyIra is the mobile side of Docs by Ira, the AI invoice reader Tally added alongside TallyPrime 7.1. You photograph a supplier bill or share its PDF, Ira reads the details, and a draft voucher appears in TallyPrime. Nothing posts to your books until someone reviews the draft and accepts it in TallyPrime.
That's genuinely useful if a pile of purchase bills arrives every week: whoever collects a bill can capture it on the spot. But it is a capture tool. It doesn't show balances, outstanding or stock, and it doesn't replace TallyPrime. Docs by Ira is sold in page packs, ₹200 plus GST for 200 pages or ₹3,000 plus GST for a 3,000-page Pro pack, according to Tally's customer hub. Its release notes list Release 4.1, dated 24 September 2026.
Tally Track and TallyESS
Tally Track 2.0 is a work app for Tally's partners, covering leads, licence activations and TSS orders. TallyESS handles employee self-service such as expense claims and leave. Neither is built for keeping your accounts, so if you were looking for TallyPrime on your phone, you can skip both.

Third-party companion apps
Several Indian software companies sell phone apps built around Tally data. Typically a small connector runs on a computer next to TallyPrime and copies selected data to the vendor's servers, and the app reads that copy. Some apps are view-only (outstanding, stock and ledgers), some let you enter vouchers that sync back, and some are built for salesmen taking orders.
They're fast and comfortable on a small screen. The trade-offs are just as clear. The figures are only as fresh as the last sync, and the computer running the connector usually has to stay on. You get the reports the vendor chose to build, not all of TallyPrime. And a copy of your books sits with another company, so read its privacy and data-location terms before you connect.
Reports in Browser, Tally's view-only option
Reports in Browser is part of Tally Software Services (TSS). It shows 30+ reports and vouchers in any browser, and the layout has fitted phone screens since Release 2.0. Tally's Browser Reports FAQ sets three conditions: an active TSS, a Tally.NET ID, and the company kept connected in a running TallyPrime. You can view and download, but not edit.
If your TSS is current and TallyPrime stays open at the office, it's a useful extra at no added cost. It isn't a way to post an entry, fix a mistake or file a return.
Full TallyPrime over Remote Desktop
The only way to use the actual program on a phone is to run TallyPrime on a Windows computer and work on it remotely. With Tally on Cloud, that computer is a private Windows server in a data centre, and your phone connects through Microsoft's free Windows App (formerly Microsoft Remote Desktop). Microsoft's store listings currently need iOS or iPadOS 26.0 or later on iPhone and iPad, and Android 11 or later on Android; the Android app also runs on Chromebooks that support Play Store apps.
Because it's the same Windows program, every voucher type, report, GST screen and TDL customisation is there. There's also only one copy of your books, so nothing needs to sync. The honest limits:
- It needs internet. The session streams the screen from the server, so nothing works offline. Our internet speed guide shows how little data a session uses.
- Phone screens are small. A phone is fine for a lookup or a quick correction. For long entry, use an iPad or Android tablet with a keyboard; our Tally cloud shortcut keys guide maps the F-keys.
- No direct printing from phones. Microsoft's feature comparison shows Windows App on iOS and Android doesn't redirect printers. Press Ctrl+M to e-mail a PDF, then print or share it. Details are in how to print from Tally on Cloud.
- Licensing still applies. Each TallyPrime instance opened over Remote Desktop uses a Tally Virtual User: Silver includes one and Gold includes ten, per Tally's TVU FAQ. Our TVU guide explains the rules.
You can also screen-share into an office PC with a remote-control app. That is the real TallyPrime too, but the PC must stay switched on, only one person can use it at a time, and opening an office PC to the internet needs care. Tally's other remote options don't reach phones. The TallyPrime Cloud Access FAQ, updated 29 September 2026, says mobile and tablet devices aren't supported, and Tally.NET Remote Access needs TallyPrime installed at the remote end. There's no single "Tally mobile app price", because these routes are different products. Here's what each one costs, before GST, and what else it needs.

Beware "TallyPrime APK" downloads
Searches such as "tally prime mobile app download" and "tally apk" turn up websites and videos offering TallyPrime for Android. No Android version exists, so any APK shared as "TallyPrime" does not come from Tally Solutions. At best it's a different app borrowing the name. At worst it's malware built to steal passwords, OTPs and business data. Installing an APK from outside Google Play also skips the store's own checks.
If a video shows TallyPrime's familiar screens on a phone, you're watching a remote session to a Windows computer or an unsupported emulator workaround, not a mobile app.
Do
- Install apps only from Google Play or the App Store.
- Check the publisher: Tally's apps list Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and Windows App lists Microsoft Corporation.
- Download TallyPrime itself only from tallysolutions.com, onto a Windows computer.
Don't
- Sideload APKs sent on WhatsApp or found on download sites.
- Type your Tally.NET, GST portal or bank passwords into an app you aren't sure of.
- Allow "install unknown apps" for your browser or file manager.

For quick checks, often yes; for full accounting, no. Companion apps show selected data copied from your TallyPrime, and some let you enter orders or vouchers that sync back. They don't run TallyPrime itself, so your TDL customisations, GST return screens and every report aren't there.
