Refund and cancellation policy

This is the TallyoCloud refund policy for our Tally on Cloud hosting plans, in plain English. It covers what happens to your money and your data when you stop: the free trial, monthly billing, auto-pay, service credits, and the fees we can't refund because you paid them to someone else.

  • No card for the trial
  • Cancel with one message
  • No lock-in, billed monthly
In short

The TallyoCloud refund policy in short: the 7-day free trial is never charged. Every plan is billed monthly, can be cancelled any time and runs to the end of the paid month, with no further charges. A renewal charged after you cancel is refunded in full. TallyPrime licence fees are outside this policy.

Free trial: never charged, no card

Our 7-day free trial runs on a private server with your own data, and we never ask for a card, bank details or an auto-debit mandate to start it. With nothing on file there is nothing to charge and nothing to cancel. The trial never turns into a paid plan on its own: you move to a paid plan only when you tell us to and pay the first invoice.

If you don't continue, do nothing or tell us on WhatsApp. We switch the trial server off, keep the trial copy only for the download window stated in your trial-end message, then delete it securely. Your original books stay on your own PC throughout.

Why we work this way. India's Guidelines for Prevention and Regulation of Dark Patterns, 2023 describe a "subscription trap" as, among other things, making cancellation complex, hiding the cancel option or demanding payment details for a free subscription (Trilegal summary). This policy is written to stay well clear of all three.

Monthly billing: cancel any time

Every plan is billed monthly, with no lock-in and no notice period. Cancel whenever you like and your server keeps running to the last day of the month you've already paid for, so your team can finish the month's vouchers, GST working and backups. After that, nothing more is billed.

  • Cancel before your billing date and the next month is never charged. If you use auto-pay, the pre-debit notice reminds you of the date and amount first.
  • No refunds for part-months. A month that has started counts as used, because your private server, Microsoft Remote Desktop licences and backups were reserved for you for the whole month.
  • Removing users takes effect from your next billing month, and those users keep working until then.

We don't sell yearly plans, so there is never a prepaid term to unwind: the most you have paid ahead is the current month.

Auto-pay and e-mandates

Auto-pay is optional; you can pay each invoice yourself by UPI, card, net banking or bank transfer. If you choose it, the Reserve Bank of India's rules for recurring payments protect you:

  • Extra authentication once, when you register the mandate (RBI e-mandate circular).
  • A pre-debit notice at least 24 hours before every charge, showing the amount and date, so you can still cancel before money moves.
  • Fresh approval for any single charge above ₹15,000, a limit a monthly bill for a larger team can cross.
  • Withdraw the mandate any time: ask us, or do it yourself in your bank's, card issuer's or UPI app. Stopping auto-pay doesn't cancel your plan; you simply pay invoices yourself.

If a renewal is charged after we've confirmed your cancellation, we refund it in full, GST included, without you having to ask twice.

Service-level credits

Our service level agreement sets out the 99.9% uptime commitment, how it's measured and the credits you can claim when we miss it. Credits are a discount on hosting fees, so we normally apply them to your next invoice. If you cancel before a credit has been used, we add it to your final refund instead: you never lose a credit by leaving.

How to cancel

Cancelling takes the same effort as signing up: one message. There's no form to post, no call to sit through and no reason to give.

  1. Send one message

WhatsApp us on +91 97168 56953 or e-mail tallyocloud@gmail.com from your registered number or address, or use the cancel option in your customer dashboard. Tell us the plan and, if you like, the date you'd like service to end.

  2. Get it in writing

We confirm the date your service ends, any refund or unused credit due to you, and when it will be paid. Nothing is final until you've seen those figures.

  3. Take your data and your licence

Download your final backup, or ask us for a complete copy of every company. Then surrender your TallyPrime licence from our server so you can reactivate it on your own PC. Our data migration guide works in reverse too.

  4. Server closed, refund paid

When your paid period ends we switch the server off, keep it for the exit period in our terms of service, then delete it securely. Off-server backups expire on their normal 30-day retention cycle.

Refund timelines and method

We start your refund once your service has ended and you've agreed the final figure, and the cancellation confirmation tells you the date to expect it.

  • Back to the original payment method. UPI, card and net-banking payments are refunded to the same UPI ID, card or account. Bank transfers are refunded to the business account that paid us.
  • Never to a different account. We won't redirect a refund to a new account because of a chat or e-mail request; that protects you from impersonation fraud.
  • No cancellation fee. Leaving costs nothing beyond the period you've already used.
  • Bank processing time. Once we've sent it, your bank, card issuer or payment app takes its own time to show the credit. If it hasn't arrived by the date we gave, send us the refund reference and we'll chase it.

GST on refunds

Your refund includes the GST charged on the refunded months. We issue a GST credit note against the original invoice, so your purchase register and returns stay matched. If your business claimed input tax credit on that invoice, the credit note reduces it; your CA will handle that in the normal return cycle.

What this policy doesn't cover

This policy covers only the hosting fees you pay to TallyoCloud. A few costs sit outside it:

  • TallyPrime licences, rentals, TSS and Tally Virtual User packs. They're sold and invoiced by Tally Solutions or an authorised Tally partner, so their refund rules apply. Extra virtual-user packs, for example, are bought from your Tally account at a list price of about ₹125 per user per month; our Tally Virtual User guide and TallyPrime price list explain the costs.
  • Months already started. A month that has begun counts as used.
  • One-off work already delivered. Standard setup and migration are included in every plan; unusual work we quote for separately, such as extensive custom TDL testing, isn't refundable once done.
  • Service ended for a serious breach of our terms, such as unlawful use. The terms set out what is refunded in that case.

Your licence stays yours. Leaving TallyoCloud never costs you your TallyPrime licence: it's registered to your business, not to us. Surrender it from our server before the server is closed, so it's free to reactivate on your own computer straight away.

Changes and questions

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page and tell active customers by e-mail before the change takes effect. A change never reduces the refund on a payment you've already made: the policy in force on the day you paid applies.

Questions or a complaint about a refund? All our contact routes are on the contact page, the billing answers are in our FAQ, and technical help lives in the support centre.

Frequently asked questions

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. All plans are billed monthly, and you can cancel at any time with one WhatsApp message, an e-mail or the cancel option in your customer dashboard. Nobody asks for a reason or puts you through a retention call. Your service keeps running to the end of the month you have paid for, and you get a complete copy of your Tally data before anything is deleted.

Are TallyPrime licence or TVU fees refundable?

Not by us. Fees paid to Tally Solutions or an authorised Tally partner for TallyPrime licences, rentals, TSS renewals or Tally Virtual User packs follow their refund policies, because they sell and invoice them. This policy covers only TallyoCloud hosting fees. Your licence stays registered to your business either way, and we can tell you who to contact about a licence refund.

Will I be charged when the free trial ends?

No. The 7-day free trial needs no card, bank details or auto-debit mandate, so there is nothing we could charge, and it never turns into a paid plan on its own. If you decide not to continue, do nothing or tell us on WhatsApp. We switch the trial server off and delete the trial copy after a short download window.

What happens to my Tally data when I cancel?

It stays yours. You can download a backup whenever you like, and when you cancel we hand over a complete final copy of every company before anything is deleted. You surrender your TallyPrime licence from our server and reactivate it on your own PC. We then keep the server for the exit period set out in our terms and delete it securely.

What if an auto-pay renewal is charged after I cancel?

You get all of it back. Once we have confirmed your cancellation, no further renewal should be charged. If one still goes through, we refund the whole amount, GST included, to the account it came from, without you having to argue for it. You can also withdraw an e-mandate yourself at any time in your bank's, card issuer's or UPI app.
